TotalEnergies Marketing Italia Spa is seeking a Mechanical Field Engineer to deliver on-site technical support, focusing on tribology, lubrication and reliability improvements. You will analyze equipment using vibration techniques and predictive maintenance, work with sales teams, and drive field projects across customers in Italy.

Based in central or northern Italy, travel across the country is required. A degree in mechanical engineering and experience in industrial maintenance are preferred;

Competenze

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent technical qualification.
• Technical diploma with relevant field experience may be considered.
• Knowledge of lubrication, tribology and reliability engineering preferred.

Mansioni

• Perform reliability assessments on industrial equipment and lubrication systems.

Activités

Your Mission

As a Mechanical Field Engineer, you will provide specialized technical support to industrial customers, helping them improve equipment reliability and operational performance through advanced tribology, vibration analysis and predictive maintenance practices.

Working closely with customers, Sales teams and TotalEnergies Lubrifiants technical experts, you will contribute to solving complex mechanical challenges, implementing innovative solutions and driving continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

Reliability Engineering & Condition Monitoring

• Perform technical assessments on industrial equipment and lubrication systems.
• Support customers in developing reliability-centred maintenance strategies.
• Conduct inspections of key equipment at customers’ sites, such as ball mills and cement kilns, using predictive maintenance technologies and non-destructive testing techniques, including vibration analysis, thermography, video endoscopy and remote monitoring systems.
• Interpret condition monitoring data to evaluate equipment condition and identify potential issues.
• Recommend corrective and preventive actions aimed at reducing downtime and improving asset performance.
• Prepare clear, structured technical reports with findings, conclusions and practical recommendations.

Tribology & Industrial Lubrication

• Provide technical expertise on industrial lubricants and tribological applications.
• Analyze operating conditions and mechanical systems to optimize lubrication practices.
• Develop and implement lubrication plans for critical machinery and rotating equipment.
• Support customers in improving equipment efficiency, reliability and component life.

Technical Support & Problem Solving

• Act as a technical reference for customers and Sales teams.
• Investigate complex technical issues and support root cause analysis activities.
• Progressively take ownership of diagnostics, root cause analysis and technical recommendations.
• Manage post-sales technical support and contribute to customer satisfaction initiatives.
• Support the resolution of customer complaints through structured problem-solving methodologies.

Innovation & Product Development

• Collaborate with TotalEnergies Lubrifiants on the development and validation of new products and solutions.
• Participate in field trials, laboratory tests and performance evaluations.
• Contribute to the introduction of advanced reliability and lubrication technologies into the market.
• Support on-site trials and field validation activities, ensuring compliance with quality, safety and environmental requirements.

Technical Training & Knowledge Sharing

• Deliver technical presentations and training sessions for customers and internal stakeholders.
• Support Marketing and Sales initiatives by providing technical expertise.
• Maintain and update technical documentation and product information.
• Contribute to technical communication activities in collaboration with Marketing and Sales.

Education

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent technical qualification.
• A technical diploma with relevant field experience may also be considered.
• Knowledge of Industrial Lubrication, Tribology, Mechanical Maintenance and Reliability Engineering is preferred.

Experience

• Minimum 2–5 years of experience in one or more of the following fields:
• Industrial maintenance
• Reliability engineering
• Condition monitoring
• Industrial lubricants
• Rotating equipment
• Heavy industry
• Field service activities

Technical Competencies

• Knowledge of vibration analysis and predictive maintenance methodologies.
• Experience with condition monitoring technologies and diagnostic tools.
• Understanding of industrial lubrication systems and tribological applications.
• Ability to interpret technical data and provide practical recommendations.
• Good technical reporting skills.

Additional Requirements

• Availability to travel extensively across Italy.
• Based in Central or Northern Italy; relocation to Milan is not required.
• Fluent Italian and English.
• ISO 18436-1 and/or ISO 18436-2 certification is highly appreciated.
• Previous experience working on industrial sites is considered an advantage.
