NOMEA is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join our fast-growing e-mobility team in Northern Italy (Bolzano). The role is hybrid, with 3 days on-site per week, focusing on turning concepts into manufacturable EV charging hardware.

You will develop mechanical products, design components, create BOMs, and collaborate with suppliers and production teams to ensure robust, scalable designs.

Competenze

• Technical diploma or university degree in mechanical or related field.
• Experience in mechanical design and product development.
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes (sheet metal forming, injection molding, machining) is a plus.
• Strong CAD experience, preferably SolidWorks.
• Good English, German, and/or Italian language skills.

Mansioni

• Develop and optimize mechanical products and components.
• Design mechanical components such as housings, charging components, and current-carrying parts (busbars, brackets, covers).
• Create manufacturing drawings and BOMs.

Mechanical Design Engineer – E-Mobility | Northern Italy (Hybrid)

We are looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join an innovative, fast-growing team in the e-mobility sector, based in Northern Italy (Bolzano area) on a hybrid model (3 days on-site per week). For candidates travelling from other regions, travel and accommodation costs are covered.

About the Role

This is a hands‑on product development and design engineering position focused on turning concepts into manufacturable EV charging hardware. You will work on the development and optimization of mechanical products and components in a dynamic, high-tech environment.

What You Will Do

• Develop and optimize mechanical products and components
• Design mechanical components such as power electronics housings, charging components, and current‑carrying parts (busbars, mounting brackets, covers, cooling‑related parts)
• Create manufacturing and assembly drawings, and bills of materials (BOMs)
• Evaluate and test prototypes, including inspection, assembly, fit checks, and root‑cause analysis
• Coordinate technically with suppliers to ensure manufacturable designs
• Collaborate closely with production, quality, and engineering teams

Day‑to‑Day Activities

• CAD design work in SolidWorks
• Drawings and BOM management
• Product development and problem solving
• Supplier interaction
• Prototypes and testing

What You Bring

• Technical high school diploma or university degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
• Experience in mechanical design and product development
• Experience with manufacturing processes (sheet metal forming, injection molding, machining, etc.) is an advantage
• Knowledge of 3D CAD software, preferably SolidWorks
• Good English, German, and/or Italian language skills
• Ability to communicate with suppliers and support prototype builds and design iterations
