You will work across engineering and manufacturing teams, perform basic sizing and material decisions, ensure manufacturability, and participate in design reviews and testing activities.

Position

Design Engineer – Electric Motor

The Design Engineer – Electric Motor is responsible for the design and development of mechanical components and systems for electric motors and electric powertrain systems, ensuring compliance with technical, regulatory, quality and cost requirements.

The role covers the entire product development cycle, from concept phase to production, contributing to the development of innovative solutions for high-performance electric motors, product industrialization, and continuous improvement of engineering solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop 2D/3D models and technical drawings of components and systems for electric motors;
• Define technical specifications and project requirements in collaboration with Engineering teams;
• Design and optimize mechanical components of electric motors;
• Perform basic engineering analyses (sizing, tolerances, material selection);
• Support development activities related to system performance, reliability, efficiency, and durability;
• Ensure product manufacturability in collaboration with Manufacturing Engineering;
• Support simulation and technical verification activities (FEA, thermal and structural analyses where applicable);
• Manage design changes and product configuration;
• Ensure compliance with technical standards, regulations, and quality requirements;
• Participate in internal and external design reviews;
• Support prototyping, testing, and product validation activities;
• Contribute to product cost, weight, efficiency, and performance optimization.

Requirements

Technical:

• Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or Automotive Engineering;
• Knowledge of design principles for mechanical components used in electric motors and electric powertrain systems;
• 2D/3D CAD design skills (e.g., CREO, CATIA, Siemens NX, SolidWorks, or equivalent);
• Knowledge of materials and manufacturing processes;
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and GD&T;
• Basic knowledge of structural and/or thermal analysis (FEA knowledge considered a plus);
