Job summary

dsm-firmenich in Collecchio near Parma opens a new state-of-the-art production site and seeks an Associate Manager Logistics Operations to shape local logistics, build a strong team, and lead end-to-end transportation for road, air, and sea freight.

You will ensure on-time delivery, support customs and international trade processes, and collaborate with internal stakeholders and external providers to create a world-class logistics operation from day one.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
• At least 5 years of experience in logistics or transportation in food, food ingredients, pharma, or related industries.
• Knowledge of multimodal transportation operations including road, air, and sea freight.
• Knowledge of customs regulations, international trade processes, and dangerous goods transportation requirements (ADR/IATA).
• Experience with SAP and Microsoft Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end inbound and outbound logistics across road, air, and sea transportation to support production and customer requirements.
• Build, develop, and lead a high-performing logistics team with a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
• Ensure on-time delivery performance and operational excellence while maintaining business continuity in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Coordinate transportation activities with internal stakeholders, external providers, carriers, freight forwarders, and customs partners.
• Ensure compliance with customs, international trade, transportation, and dangerous goods regulations; assist in shipping and export documentation.
• Partner with the Customs and Trade team to ensure regulatory compliance and effective import/export processes.
• Monitor logistics service performance, identify improvement opportunities, and implement corrective actions for better service and efficiency.
• Support transportation invoice validation and logistics administration to ensure timely supplier payments.
• Proactively manage logistics risks and disruptions to ensure supply chain resilience.
