Metlen Energy & Metals seeks a qualified Italian lawyer to join our Milan team as Legal Counsel. You will counsel on renewable energy projects, manage cross-border M&A matters, and oversee EPC/OM contracts and supply agreements across Italy and Eastern Europe.

You will coordinate with external firms, advise on regulatory frameworks, and ensure compliance within budget. The role requires 6–7 years in renewables and fluent Italian and English, with a strong cross-functional collaboration mindset.

Qualifications

Qualified lawyer registered in Italy.
6-7 years’ experience in solar/renewable energy sector in Italy.
Experience with solar PV development, acquisitions and disposals, EPC and OM contracts.
Fluent in Italian and English.
Experience managing external legal counsel and budgets.

Responsibilities

Provide high-level legal advice to Italian and East-European Business Development and Construction Teams.
Oversee support for M&A transactions with external law firms and assist development teams in origination, permitting, and corporate transactions.
Draft, review, and organize execution of notarial deeds for project lands and corporate transactions.
Review, draft, and negotiate EPC/OM contracts and supply chain agreements.
Advise stakeholders on energy project regulations and compliance matters across development and construction.
Collaborate with external law firms to resolve complex legal matters and manage legal spend within budgets.

Job Description Legal Counsel 05/10/2026

We are currently looking for a Legal Counsel to join our team in Milan, part of our subsidiary METKA EGNItaly S.r.l. in Italy.

Your role will encompass:

Provide high level, responsive legal advice and support to the Italian and East-European Business Development and Construction Teams
Oversee the legal assistance to M&A transactions, in coordination with external law firms, and support the Development Team in business development, origination, permitting, M&A, corporate transactions, primarily in Italy and Eastern Europe
Draft, review, and organize execution of notarial deeds relevant to project lands and corporate transactions.
Review, draft, and negotiate EPC and O&M contracts, as well as agreements related to the supply chain (e.g., procurement of equipment, service contracts, general terms and conditions for the supply of goods), ensuring client interests are protected in collaboration with both internal teams and external stakeholders
Advise stakeholders on legal frameworks, regulations, and compliance matters relevant to development and construction and energy sectors
Collaborate with external law firms to address and resolve complex legal matters; liaise with them to obtain fee quotes and manage and approve legal spend within agreed parameters
Contract deadlines and relevant actions.
Advise on energy projects at all stages, working alongside other development and construction legal counsels in Italy

What you bring to the role:

Lawyer qualified in Italy
At least 6-7 years’ experience in the solar/renewable energy sector in Italy either in-house or within law firms advising energy clients
Detailed knowledge of solar PV development, acquisitions and disposals, EPC, OM contracts in Italy and elsewhere in East Europe
Fluent in Italian and English
Strong technical expertise in renewable energy project development, acquisitions and disposals, EPC and O&M contracts, ideally with exposure to both Polish and broader European markets and cross-border transactions
Proven ability to manage external legal counsel, including obtaining fee quotes and overseeing legal spend within predefined budgets
Comfortable working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with a strong focus on collaboration and cross-functional coordination

Compensation & Contractual Framework

The starting gross annual salary (RAL) for this position is 48,200 Eur, based on objective and gender-neutral criteria.

Applicable CCNL: Metalmeccanico Level / Inquadramento: B2/B3

The final compensation may reflect the candidate’s relevant experience and competencies, in line with the Company’s remuneration framework.
