The Mall Simon Luxury Outlets is seeking an Accountant for the Milan office to support the Finance team across accounting activities and statutory reporting for the group. You will partner with multiple departments to monitor costs and ensure timely completion of financial statements and tax requirements.

The role requires a degree in economics or accounting, 4+ years in accounting, strong knowledge of Italian accounting standards, and proficiency in MS Office and Netsuite.

• At least 4 years of experience in accounting within an international, structured organization.
• Experience with Statutory Financial Reporting Standards and tax declarations.

Your opportunity

The Mall Simon Luxury Outlets is currently seeking a new Accountant, based in the Milan office and reporting to the Accounting Manager.

The Accountant will support the Finance team in managing accounting activities across The Mall Simon Luxury Outlets, working closely with all departments and contributing to the effective development of the Finance function. The role will be responsible for monitoring costs, supporting the sales and accounting processes, and contributing to the preparation of the statutory financial statements and the timely completion of the related tax requirements for the Group’s entities.

How you will contribute

• You will be in charge for the general ledger activities, treasury and preparation of the monthly requirements, supporting also the accounting team in the daily based activities
• Posting general ledger entries, banks and accruals, reconciliation of bookings and other accounting activities to ensure the balances and master records are booked correctly.
• Support the period end closing and monthly reporting to the Headquarter (management reporting package), including review of the accruals, reconciliations and variance explanations.
• Support the timely and complete preparation of the Statutory Financial Statements in compliance with Italian accounting standards and Group reporting principles.
• Coordinate the SOX preparation in compliance with Group principles, ensuring the timely and complete preparation on the treasury and general ledger requirement
• Ensure the timely and complete preparation of monthly requirements (Wht, Vat, F24, Intrastat, Istat ct.)
• Ensure the timely and complete preparation of Vat books, Asset books, Journal books
• Give support during the preparation of tax declarations and communications (for both direct and indirect taxes)
• Give support during both statutory and internal audits.
• Work together with the other team members to ensure deliverables and timings, also supporting other accounting activities.

Who you are

• Bachelor or master’s degree in Economics, Accounting or similar studies
• At least +4 years of experience in the accounting function of an international and structured organization
• You have depth knowledge of Statutory Financial Reporting Standards
• Appreciate any experience in accounting payable and accounting receivable
• You are highly organized and detail oriented
• You are a dynamic, proactive, flexible and team player
• You have high ethical standards, integrity and high level of discretion
• You are flexible and able to adapt to a constant changing environment
• You are excellent expert user MS Office Suite
• You are expert user of an accounting ERP (Netsuite usage will be considered a plus)
• You have strong knowledge of English both spoken and written; French knowledge will be considered a plus
