Mercor is seeking a meticulous native Japanese speaker to annotate and transcribe Japanese-language documents for our AI training data project. You will verify page content, ensure legibility, and apply a consistent taxonomy to identify regions such as titles, headings, paragraphs, tables and figures.

Each task requires faithful transcription of kanji, kana, furigana, and handwritten text, with precise reading order and relationships to related figures or tables.

Competenze

• Native Japanese speaker with full command of kanji, hiragana and katakana.
• High accuracy is essential, down to the last character.
• Experience with document-intensive work is a plus.

Mansioni

• Open and check pages to confirm Japanese content and legibility; assign component types and reading-order indices.
• Annotate structure by bounding meaningful regions (title, heading, paragraph, list, table, figure, diagram, caption, formula, question, answer field) and link regions to related figures/tables.
• Transcribe faithfully, reproducing text exactly as written, including kanji, kana, furigana and handwritten content.
• Capture metadata: language, document type, source, page dimensions, and flags for tables, formulas and handwriting.
• Review a colleague's work to ensure accuracy and consistency; flag unsuitable pages upfront.
