Saipem is seeking an AI Solution Architect to join the AI Lab within the Digital and IT environment in Milan. You will help design and deliver secure, scalable AI solutions from requirements to production, collaborating with business, IT and security teams to implement enterprise use cases.

The role emphasizes LLMs, RAG, APIs, and DevOps/MLOps practices, with a hybrid work model and growth in Azure services. A background in cloud and AI engineering is valued.

Competenze

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Engineering or a related discipline.
• 1–3 years of experience in software development, cloud solutions, data or AI engineering.
• Languages: Italian and English proficiency.
• Development skills, e.g. Python; basic knowledge of cloud architectures, APIs and software integration; familiarity with LLMs, prompt engineering, RAG or multi‑step AI systems; basic understanding of CI/CD, DevOps or MLOps; ability to document technical solutions and translate requirements into structured designs.

Mansioni

• Support the analysis of business and technical requirements and their translation into AI solution designs.
• Contribute to the definition and documentation of end-to-end architectures on the Azure ecosystem; collaborate on development and release activities using DevOps and MLOps practices, under the guidance of senior team members.
• Support the integration of LLMs, RAG components, APIs, data sources and enterprise systems.
• Contribute to quality, security, monitoring and AI governance controls for solutions moving toward production; prepare and maintain technical documentation, architecture diagrams, standards and reusable templates.
• Work with business units, IT and security functions to support testing, issue resolution and continuous improvement.

Purpose of the position

As AI Solution Architect, you will be part of Saipem’s AI Lab within the Digital and IT environment. Working with experienced architects and technical specialists, you will contribute to the design and delivery of secure and scalable AI solutions, supporting initiatives from requirements analysis and architectural definition through development, testing and production release. You will collaborate with business, IT and security stakeholders on concrete enterprise use cases.

How can you support us?

What are we looking for?

Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Engineering or a related discipline.

Background: 1–3 years of experience in software development, cloud solutions, data or AI engineering. Relevant university projects, internships or thesis work involving cloud, APIs, AI solutions or software architecture will also be considered.

Languages: Italian and English proficiency.

Technical/IT Knowledge: Development skills, for example Python; basic knowledge of cloud architectures, APIs and software integration; familiarity with LLMs, prompt engineering, RAG or multi-step AI systems; basic understanding of CI/CD, DevOps or MLOps concepts; ability to document technical solutions and translate requirements into structured designs.

What else should you know?

• The position is based in Milan and follows a hybrid working model.
• The role requires close collaboration with business, IT and security stakeholders.
• You will work alongside experienced architects and technical specialists on enterprise AI use cases.
• Experience or knowledge of the Oil & Gas or Engineering sector is considered a plus.
• Academic or project experience with Azure AI, Azure OpenAI, AI Foundry, API Management or related Azure services is considered a plus.
