Job summary

Maison Valentino is seeking an IT Business Applications, Operations & Logistics Director to own the retail and wholesale backend application landscape, including SAP-centered programs across Logistics, Supply Chain, Operations, Sales, RFID and BW. You will lead a large, multidisciplinary team to ensure business continuity today while transforming the landscape for tomorrow.

The role requires 15+ years in IT with senior leadership experience in international organizations, plus deep SAP

Qualifications

• 15+ years in IT with senior leadership in international organizations.
• Proven track record leading large, multidisciplinary teams.
• Deep SAP experience with migration or implementation programs (ideally S/4HANA).
• Strong process expertise in Supply Chain, Logistics/WMS/3PL, Order Management and Sales.
• Outstanding program and portfolio management on concurrent initiatives.
• Solid experience governing system integrators, technology partners and AMS.
• Fluent Italian and English.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end delivery of a multi-project portfolio, from business requirements to stable operations.
• Translate business priorities into roadmaps, balancing transformation with business-as-usual.
• Run governance on scope, budget, resources, risks and cross-project dependencies.
• Provide transparent status reporting and escalate critical risks and decisions on time.
• Own stability, scalability and evolution of the applications in scope, with SAP at the core.
• Lead SAP migration and implementation programs and the stabilization that follows (S/4HANA, RISE).
• Govern corrective and evolutionary demand against architecture consistency and capacity.
• Ensure end-to-end integration across ERP, WMS, 3PL, planning, PLM, RFID and BW.

The IT Business Applications, Operations & Logistics Director owns the retail and wholesale backend application landscape at Valentino — Logistics, Supply Chain, Operations, Sales, RFID and BW. The role leads a large, multidisciplinary team and a portfolio of business-critical SAP-centred programs, ensuring business continuity today while driving the transformation of the landscape for tomorrow.

Key responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end delivery of a multi-project portfolio, from business requirements to stable operations.

• Act as the technology partner of Logistics, Supply Chain, Operations and Sales leadership.
• Bring process expertise to redesign and simplify end-to-end flows, not only systems.
• Ensure consistent processes and solutions across channels (retail, wholesale) and geographies.
• Govern system integrators, technology partners and AMS providers on delivery, quality and SLAs.
• Contribute to contracts and Statements of Work together with Procurement.
• Build demanding partnerships with clear accountability for business outcomes.

People leadership

• Lead and grow a large multidisciplinary organization of domain leads, managers and project managers.
• Set clear ownership and allocate resources across programs, projects and operations.
• Reduce key-person dependencies and build succession and resilience.
• Foster a culture of accountability, execution and continuous improvement.

Candidate profile

Must-have

• 15+ years in IT, with significant time in senior business applications leadership in complex, international organizations.
• Proven track record leading large, multidisciplinary teams, including managers and domain leads.
• Deep SAP experience, with at least one large migration or implementation program delivered end to end (ideally S/4HANA).
• Strong process expertise in Supply Chain, Logistics/WMS/3PL, Order Management and Sales (retail and wholesale).
• Outstanding program and portfolio management on concurrent, business-critical initiatives.
• Solid experience governing system integrators, technology partners and AMS.
• Fluent Italian and English.

Nice-to-have

• Fashion, Luxury, Retail or Consumer Goods background.
• Supply Chain Planning (allocation, replenishment) experience.
• Exposure to RFID solutions and SAP BW / operational reporting.
• Warehouse migrations or 3PL network changes in an international context.
• Execution: turns strategy into concrete plans, anticipates delivery issues and drives recovery.
• Business and process orientation: understands how the business works beyond the technology.
• Stakeholder influence: credible with senior executives; constructively challenges business, IT and partners.
