STMicroelectronics is seeking a student or recent graduate to join the R&D Security team and work on secure software gadgets for masked protected PQC on embedded Cortex-M targets. You will study, design, implement, and evaluate solutions, focusing on masked gadgets, performance optimization, PQC algorithms, and security evaluations using tools like ChipWhisperer.

The role emphasizes collaboration, learning, and advancing cryptographic embedded software with a global team across STM32 platforms.

YOUR ROLE

You will join the R&D Security team at STMicroelectronics, with the objective to study, design, implement, and evaluate secure software gadgets for masked protected Post-Quantum Cryptography (PQC) on embedded targets, with a focus on Cortex-M-class microcontrollers like STM32s.

You will focus on:

• State-of-the-art masked gadgets for protected software implementations
• Software optimizations for Cortex-M CPUs
• PQC algorithms such as ML-KEM and ML-DSA
• Performance analysis and comparison of different approaches
• Security evaluation using simulation and/or tools such as ChipWhisperer

YOUR SKILLS & EXPERIENCES

• Master's degree (on going or just completed) student in Computer Science, Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mathematics or similar
• Good proficiency in C programming
• A strong interest in cryptography and secure embedded software
• An interest in microcontrollers, especially Cortex-M
• Motivation to learn about masking, side-channel resistance, and PQC
• Be able to communicate effectively in English
