Job summary

STMicroelectronics is seeking a Master’s student to join the R&D Security team to study, design, implement, and evaluate secure software gadgets for masked PQC on embedded targets, focusing on Cortex-M-class microcontrollers such as STM32.

You will explore state-of-the-art masked gadgets, optimize software for Cortex-M, work with PQC algorithms like ML-KEM and ML-DSA, and perform security evaluations using simulation and tools such as ChipWhisperer.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Computer Science, Electronics/Engineering, or Mathematics (ongoing or completed).
• Strong proficiency in C programming.
• Interest in cryptography and secure embedded software.
• Interest in Cortex-M microcontrollers.
• Motivation to learn masking, side-channel resistance, and PQC.
• Ability to communicate in English.

Responsibilities

• Study, design, implement, and evaluate secure software gadgets for masked PQC on embedded targets.
• Develop state-of-the-art masked gadgets for protected software.
• Optimize software for Cortex-M CPUs.
• Work with PQC algorithms such as ML-KEM and ML-DSA.
