Job summary

Saipem is seeking an HSE Engineer to support the Prevention and Protection Services Team on site at Livorno (Biorefinery). You will ensure HSE regulatory compliance, lead risk assessments, and contribute to incident investigations across projects.

The role requires English and Italian proficiency, 1–3 years in HSE/Safety, and a willingness to travel. A temporary contract with competitive pay and a focus on safety and sustainability are offered.

Qualifications

• Education requirements as stated: Master’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Environmental Sciences, Safety Engineering or similar field.
• Knowledge of Italian regulatory framework and EU directives is a plus.
• Experience in HSE audits, inspections and incident investigations is expected.

Responsibilities

• Ensure application of Saipem HSE standards, client requirements and local regulations on site.
• Perform daily inspections, verify Permit-to-Work, risk assessments and method statements.
• Promote HSE awareness through toolbox talks, training sessions and campaigns.
• Participate in risk assessments and pre-task briefs, providing technical safety guidance to teams.
