Responsibilities

• Take full ownership of day-to-day property and household operations in Milan.
• Lead and coordinate the Milan household team (butlers, housekeepers, local staff).
• Manage maintenance, inspections, repairs, contractors and suppliers.
• Coordinate household logistics including arrivals/departures, wardrobes, storage and inventories.
• Oversee local and travelling food and beverage requirements with chefs and suppliers.
• Deliver property projects including fit-outs, moves, storage solutions and upgrades.
• Coordinate development of a commercial/office space with furniture and contractors.
• Implement and maintain household procedures, checklists, inventories.
• Work with Head of Properties & Systems and UK counterparts providing updates.
• Build relationships with suppliers and service providers, ensuring value and quality.
• Anticipate issues and resolve problems with minimal direction.

Italy House Manager & Property Management

Milan | Full-time | €100,000-€125,000 depending on experience

A private family office is seeking an experienced House Manager & Property Projects Lead to take ownership of its Milan-based household, properties and operational requirements.
This is a senior role for someone with the judgement, authority and initiative to operate independently, make decisions and get things done. The successful candidate will become the key person on the ground in Milan, significantly reducing the daily involvement required from the Chief of Staff and Head of Properties & Systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Take full ownership of day-to-day property and household operations in Milan, ensuring properties are maintained, serviced and ready for family and guest arrivals.
• Lead and coordinate the Milan household team, including butlers, housekeepers and local support, ensuring clear communication, staffing coverage and consistently high standards.
• Manage maintenance, inspections, repairs, contractors and suppliers, checking completed works and resolving issues proactively.
• Coordinate household logistics including arrivals and departures, wardrobes, storage, inventories, deliveries and property set-up/close-down.
• Oversee local and travelling food and beverage requirements, working with chefs, suppliers and the wider household and travel teams.
• Deliver property projects including fit outs, moves, storage solutions, upgrades and new spaces, managing scope, budgets, suppliers and deadlines.
• Coordinate the family's practical requirements for the development of a commercial and office space, including furniture, deliveries, storage, contractors and ongoing property needs.
• Implement and maintain clear household procedures, checklists and inventories, ensuring they are followed effectively.
• Work closely with the Head of Properties & Systems and the UK House Manager & Property Projects counterpart, providing clear updates and escalating larger commitments where appropriate.
• Build and manage strong relationships with local suppliers, contractors and service providers, ensuring value, quality and accountability.
• Anticipate issues, take ownership and resolve problems without needing constant direction.

The Ideal Candidate

• Proven senior experience within a private household, family office, luxury hospitality or high-end property environment.
• Strong experience managing properties, people, contractors, suppliers and projects.
• Highly autonomous, practical and solutions-focused, with excellent judgement and the confidence to make decisions independently.
• A strong people manager who can establish clear standards and accountability.
• Experienced in delivering property projects to budget, scope and deadline.
• Commercially aware and comfortable managing expenditure and negotiating with suppliers.
• Discreet, polished and highly trustworthy, with exceptional attention to detail.
• Fluent Italian and English are essential.
• A genuine long-term commitment to being based in Milan is essential, ideally already based in Milan.
• Flexible and comfortable responding to the family's requirements when necessary.
