Mandarin Oriental Milan seeks a Host/Hostess to join the RB&E team in Milan. You will deliver a warm, professional welcome and manage reservations to ensure a seamless dining experience in line with Mandarin Oriental standards.

Responsibilities

Welcome and seat guests following Mandarin Oriental standards.
Present menus and guide guests to begin their dining experience.
Manage reservations across channels and optimise seating capacity.

Coordinate guest flow with service and kitchen teams.
Support reception setup and daily operations within the department.
Manage email correspondence and reservation systems efficiently.

About the job

Based at the Mandarin Oriental, Milan within the RB&E Department in Milan, the Host / Hostess is responsible for delivering a warm, professional, and personalized guest welcome, ensuring efficient reservation management and a seamless dining experience in line with Mandarin Oriental standards. The Host / Hostess reports to the Hostess Team Leader.

As Host / Hostess, you willbe responsiblefor the following duties:

To welcome and seat guests in accordance with Mandarin Oriental standards, ensuring a positive first impression
To present menus and provide initial guidance, ensuring guests feel comfortable and well attended
To manage reservations across all channels, ensuring accuracy and optimization of seating capacity
To maintain and update guest profiles, preferences, and special requests
To handle guest enquiries, requests, and feedback in a professional and timely manner
To manage guest complaints with care, escalating when necessary
To coordinate guest flow and communicate effectively with service and kitchen teams
To liaise with other departments to ensure seamless service delivery
To support the set-up and organization of reception and service stations
To assist in daily operations and administrative tasks within the department
To manage email correspondence and reservation systems efficiently
To participate in daily briefings and team communication
To ensure guest satisfaction throughout the dining experience
To carry out any additional duties as required to support operations
