Safilo is seeking a Global Customs Compliance Manager to oversee import/export and intra-community trade, ensuring full regulatory compliance across operations. You will be the main contact for Customs Authorities and provide expert guidance on trade compliance.

Reporting to the COO and working with Tax and Logistics, you will develop policies, monitor regulatory changes, manage audits, and ensure VAT treatment across cross-border activities.

Competenze

• Bachelor/Master’s degree in a relevant field.
• 6–7 years of experience in customs compliance or related areas.
• Strong knowledge of customs regulations, import/export processes, and VAT compliance.
• Proficiency in English; SAP experience is a plus.
• Excellent teamwork, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• High level of discretion and ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to changing business needs.

Mansioni

• Ensuring full compliance with customs regulations for all import/export operations, including tariff classification, origin determination, valuation, and recordkeeping.
• Developing, implementing, and maintaining trade compliance policies, procedures, and internal controls to meet regulatory requirements.
• Monitoring regulatory changes related to tariffs, duties, and trade restrictions; communicating updates effectively across departments.
• Managing customs audits and maintaining comprehensive documentation for customs and VAT compliance.
• Collaborating cross-functionally, particularly with Tax and Logistics teams, to ensure correct VAT treatment on imports, exports, and intra-community transactions.
• Supporting the Tax function in analyzing customs-related data for indirect tax reporting and reconciliation.
• Ensuring proper documentation retention for VAT compliance in intra-community exchanges.
• Providing expert guidance to internal stakeholders and external partners on customs and trade compliance matters, including the fiscal impact of customs operations (duties, tariffs, VAT implications).
• Assisting in preparing reports and analyses for tax authorities related to customs and VAT compliance.
• Driving continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and compliance in import/export operations.
• Preparing and maintaining manuals, reports, and presentations to support compliance programs.
• Ensuring data accuracy and integrity within systems to support downstream processes.
