Job summary

Avio Aero seeks a Customs & Import / Export Leader to drive compliance, efficiency, and cost optimization in aerospace cross-border operations, safeguarding license-to-operate and ensuring on-time delivery across global parts, engines, modules and data.

You will collaborate with Internal Trade Compliance and Legal to align governance, controls, and execution, overseeing classification, licensing, screening, and end-use reviews while leading audits and mentoring the team.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in customs, trade compliance, and import/export operations within a regulated industrial environment.
• Aerospace or high-tech industry experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of EU customs legislation and HS classification.
• Demonstrated leadership and cross-functional collaboration.
• Fluent English, both written and spoken.

Responsibilities

• Lead customs and trade compliance strategy for import/export activities.
• Provide strong leadership to the customs and trade compliance organization and foster integrity and continuous improvement.
• Advise senior leaders across Operations, Program Management, Supply Chain, and Legal on compliance and risk management.
• Drive initiatives such as AEO authorization and digital transformation of compliance processes.
• Oversee end-to-end customs operations for aerospace goods across inbound and outbound flows.
• Ensure robust governance through tariff classification, valuation, origin, and documentation.
• Anticipate and resolve holds, clearance issues, and disruptions to protect on-time delivery.
• Lead export control classification, licensing, screening, and end-use reviews.
• Partner with Legal, Compliance, Security, Engineering, and ITC to assess high-risk transactions.
