Job summary

Avio Aero is seeking a senior leader to guide customs and trade compliance for its aerospace import/export activities. You will align governance, controls, and execution across customs, export controls, and sanctions compliance, while partnering with ITC and Legal to enable compliant business decisions.

Responsibilities include leading strategy, talent development, and driving digitalization of compliance processes, ensuring on-time delivery and optimal landed cost in a regulated global

Qualifications

• Degree in a relevant field; postgraduate certs in trade compliance are a plus.
• Significant experience in customs, trade compliance, and import/export operations in a regulated industrial environment.
• Proven leadership with ability to manage teams and drive cross-functional compliance initiatives.
• Expertise in export control and licensing for controlled goods and technologies, incl. classification with authorities.
• Strong knowledge of EU customs legislation, HS classification, valuation, origin rules, and aerospace procedures.
• Fluent English (written and spoken); work visa may be required by local regulations.

Responsibilities

• Lead customs and trade compliance strategy for import/export activities in line with business priorities.
• Provide strong leadership to the customs and trade compliance organization and foster continuous improvement.
• Advise senior leaders on compliance, risk, and business continuity across Functions.
• Drive initiatives like AEO authorization and digital transformation of compliance processes.
• Oversee end-to-end customs operations for aerospace goods across inbound/outbound flows.
• Ensure robust governance with tariff classification, valuation, origin, and documentation.
