Job summary

RINA in Genova, Italy seeks a Senior Stability Plan Approval Engineer to join the Mediterranean and Africa Marine Division. You will review and approve stability-related documents for new builds, conversions, and ships in service, ensuring compliance with SOLAS, MARPOL and class rules.

The role requires a naval engineering degree and hands-on use of stability software. Strong English and Italian proficiency are essential in a multicultural team setting.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1–2 years of experience in ship stability, design, or marine operations.
• Significant experience with stability software tools and stability assessments.
• Proven experience reviewing and approving stability plans for new and existing vessels, including SOLAS, MARPOL and class rules.
• Hands-on involvement in evaluating load-line calculations, intact stability, damage stability, and operational stability for various vessel types.

Responsibilities

• Review and approve loadline assignments and stability-related documents for new buildings, ships in service, and conversions.
• Provide guidance on load line, stability, loading computer and ballast water management plan matters.
• Assess complex stability verifications and proactively solve problems.
• Calculate using NAPA or other stability software to support decision making.
