Job summary

EDAG Italia in Italy seeks a Generative AI SW Engineer to help build the central brain of an infotainment system, including the instrument cluster and connected services. You will prototype and validate AI models for embedded execution.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer science, electronics or IT-related engineering, with an AI-specific background.
• 1–5 years hands‑on experience in software/AI engineering, ideally with exposure to generative AI, LLMs/SLMs or embedded systems — you're already autonomous on core tasks.
• Solid knowledge of Generative AI concepts and techniques (RAG, agent orchestration; fine‑tuning experience is a plus) and strong Python skills.
• Good understanding of embedded systems and resource‑constrained environments.
• Knowledge of cloud AI services (e.g. Azure) to support hybrid on‑device/cloud architectures is a plus.
• Familiarity with AUTOSAR is a plus; knowledge of Kotlin and/or C# is also a plus.
• Strong passion for automotive, AI and innovation.
• Good knowledge of Italian and English (written and spoken).

Responsibilities

• Develop the new central brain of an infotainment system.
• Integrate and adapt the identified solution for embedded execution, balancing accuracy, latency and hardware resource constraints — possibly including fine‑tuning activities.
• Support the definition of the architecture connecting the Main Unit's core logic with specific functions (cluster display, connected services).

We are looking for a skilled and autonomous Generative AI SW Engineer to join a technically exciting program, developing the new central brain of an infotainment system — a Main Unit that also drives the instrument cluster display and manages connected services.

• Generative AI development. Playing a central role in a Generative AI-based solution to power natural language interaction on board.
• Model integration. Integrating and adapting the identified solution for embedded execution, balancing accuracy, latency and hardware resource constraints — possibly including fine-tuning activities.
• System architecture. Supporting the definition of the architecture connecting the Main Unit's core logic with specific functions (cluster display, connected services).
• Prototyping and validation. Building prototypes and proof-of-concepts, testing model behaviour and response quality, and iterating based on results.

Your skills that will help us to get ahead:

• You have a Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer science, electronics or IT-related engineering, with an AI-specific background.

Total compensation:

• Contract type: Permanent contract
• Gross annual salary (RAL): €30.000 – €45.000
• Smart working: individual remote working agreements
• Working hours: Full‑time (40 hours per week) with flexibility
