This is a rare opportunity to practice dentistry in an OCONUS setting, making a direct impact on military readiness and the health of the military community.

This position is an outstanding fit for dental professionals who value meaningful work, international experience, and the unique lifestyle that comes with supporting U.S. military installations abroad.

What You’ll Do
Clinical Dental Services
  • Provide a full range of professional dental treatment for commonly encountered dental diseases and oral health conditions.
  • Perform single and multiple tooth extractions, restorations of simple and compound cavities, and prosthodontic services including crowns, dentures, and bridges.
  • Document all patient treatment in the dental treatment record and utilize the Corporate Dental Application (CDA)
Patient Care & Safety
  • Provide preventive, corrective, and restorative dental care.
  • Collaborate with dental assistants, hygienists, and DENTAC staff to deliver coordinated, high-quality patient care.
Who You Are
  • You are experienced, mission-focused, and able to maintain high productivity standards in a military treatment facility environment.
  • You communicate clearly and effectively in English with patients, care teams, and administrative staff.
  • You are adaptable and thrive in dynamic, culturally diverse settings, including overseas military installations.
  • You may be a military veteran, military spouse, or simply someone who values service and is drawn to supporting the military community.
Qualifications
Education
  • Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) or Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) from a CODA-accredited dental school.
Licensure
  • Current, active, valid, and unrestricted dental license in at least one U.S. state, District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, or U.S. territory.
Experience
  • Minimum of two (2) years of full-time dental practice.
  • At least one (1) year of practice within the past three (3) years, OR be a recent (within 1 year) graduate of an accredited postgraduate dentistry training program.
Certifications
  • Current AHA-approved Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • National Provider Identifier (NPI)-Type 1 (required prior to patient care).
Why You’ll Love It Here
  • OCONUS experience — live and work in Italy, with access to U.S. military installation benefits and European travel.
  • Full government support — all facilities, equipment, and dental supplies furnished by the U.S. Government.
  • Competitive full-time position — 1,912 annual hours with structured scheduling and no malpractice insurance required.
  • Family-friendly relocation benefits — government-reimbursed HHG, POV shipment, per diem, and DoDDS schooling for eligible dependents.
  • Collaborative mission — work alongside dedicated dental and military healthcare professionals in a high-impact environment.
