Bain & Company is seeking an AI Engineering Intern in Italy to design and develop GenAI applications and agentic solutions. You will work alongside engineers, consultants, and data scientists, gaining hands-on exposure through prototyping to production deployment in a learning-first environment.

You will contribute to end-to-end ML work, including data prep, model training, evaluation, and deployment, while collaborating with partners and senior team members.

Competenze

• Experience building generative AI programs end-to-end.
• Pursuing a CS/ML/AI/Data Science/Engineering degree or equivalent.
• Strong Python and API development experience.
• Familiarity with vector search / retrieval systems.
• Fluency in English and Italian.

Mansioni

• Contribute to the design and development of GenAI applications (e.g., copilots, workflow automation, decision support).
• Support AI pipelines and components: RAG, fine‑tuning, embeddings, hybrid retrieval.
• Assist in tool use, function calling, and orchestration across AI workflows.
• Help build agent capabilities: context management, memory, orchestration, tool integration.
• Support model experimentation, evaluation design, and production deployment tasks with senior teammates.
• Write clean, testable code and contribute to APIs and services across the SDLC.
• Contribute to evaluation harnesses and reusable components for client contexts.
• End‑to‑end ML solutions: data prep, feature engineering, model selection, training, testing, deployment.
