The successful candidate will translate ambiguous business needs into practical technical designs, build across systems and data flows, and own the delivery from design through deployment and iteration.
On behalf of our client, a fast-growing AI company, we are currently looking for a Forward Deployed Engineer for a permanent position.
The client is scaling its AI platform across enterprise customers and is building local teams in Italy to support the design, deployment and improvement of AI agents in real business environments.
Their work sits between software engineering, enterprise integrations, customer workflows and production AI systems. They are looking for engineers who can work close to customers and turn complex business problems into working technical solutions.
The selected candidate will work directly with enterprise customers to understand critical workflows, design AI-driven solutions and deploy agents that operate reliably in production.
The role includes translating open-ended problems into clear technical designs, building integrations across systems and data flows, testing with real data, measuring outcomes and iterating based on results.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on generalist engineer with strong ownership, clear communication skills and the ability to work well in ambiguous environments. This is not a pure pre-sales role. The person needs to build, ship, improve and own technical outcomes end-to-end.
Location: Milan/Rome, Italy. 4 days a week in the office

Salary package: €60,000-€100,000 gross annual salary, with flexibility for strong candidates depending on experience, seniority and overall fit
