BionIT Labs seeks a Firmware & Embedded AI Engineer to lead the real-time software design for our bionic devices. You will implement edge AI processing, optimize low-level code, and integrate ROS2 for system orchestration.

You will work with BLE/CAN/SPI/I2C, ensure IEC 62304 compliance, and guide junior developers while delivering robust, safe firmware for medical devices.

Competenze

• 3+ years in firmware development and embedded systems.
• Expert C/C++, RTOS (FreeRTOS/Zephyr), and ROS2 framework, Python for data analysis/AI training, Knowledge of BLE, CAN, SPI, I2C.
• Embedded AI workflows: quantization and MCU deployment.
• PCB design with ECAD software (Altium, Eagle, KiCad)
• Prototyping: PCB assembly and rework.
• Mastery of Git, CMake, and debugging (J-Link, GDB, Logic Analyzers).
• Languages: Fluent in English and Italian.
• Mindset: Focused on clean code, innovation, and system stability.

THE ROLE

As a

Firmware & Embedded AI Engineer , you will be responsible for the core intelligence of our devices. You will lead the design of real-time embedded software, integrating Artificial Intelligence at the edge to process physiological signals and leveraging ROS2 for high-level system orchestration and middleware communication. We are looking for a developer who excels in low-level optimization while maintaining a high-level vision of software architecture and data flow.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Firmware Engineering: Develop high-performance, real-time C/C++ code for ARM Cortex-M microcontrollers.

SALARY RANGE

35-55K€

(including basic, variable and other benefits).
