CYBEX is seeking a senior materials sourcing leader to drive development and procurement of fabrics, trims, and packaging for its apparel collections. You will align with design and product teams to deliver materials that meet performance, quality, and cost targets.

You will manage material libraries, PLM documentation, and supplier relationships while ensuring regulatory adherence. A strong background in fabric development and supplier management is essential and English fluency is required.

Competenze

• Bachelor's degree in textile-related field and experience in fabric/material development.
• Several years of experience in fabric/material development, sourcing, or product development.
• Strong knowledge of textile construction and supplier management.

• Lead the development and sourcing of fabrics, trims, labels, packaging, and other material components for apparel collections, ensuring alignment with product vision, functionality, quality, and cost objectives.
• Partner with Design and Product Development to identify and develop materials that support product concepts and performance requirements.
• Manage seasonal material libraries and PLM documentation with accurate specs and approvals.
• Ensure fabrics, trims, and components meet performance, quality, testing, compliance, and regulatory standards.
• Build and maintain strategic relationships with mills and suppliers; negotiate costs, lead times, MOQs, and commitments.
• Evaluate supplier capabilities, capacity, quality, and sustainability initiatives; drive optimization and sourcing efficiency.
• Manage material development timelines and critical paths across product categories; ensure timely samples and testing submissions.
• Mitigate risks related to material availability, supplier capacity, and lead times.
• Support margin targets through material costing and value engineering; maintain design integrity.
• Drive sustainable material initiatives with recycled or low-impact alternatives aligned with goals.
• Act as material expert across teams, supporting kick-offs, range reviews, and milestone meetings.
• Drive continuous improvement across material development and sourcing processes.

Your seat to fill:

• Lead the development and sourcing of fabrics, trims, labels, packaging, and other material components for apparel collections, ensuring alignment with product vision, functionality, quality, and cost objectives
• Partner closely with Design and Product Development to identify and develop materials that support product concepts, performance requirements, and overall product strategy
• Manage seasonal material libraries and PLM documentation, ensuring accurate specifications, material approvals, and readiness in line with product creation milestones
• Ensure all fabrics, trims, and material components meet required performance, quality, testing, compliance, and regulatory standards
• Build and maintain strategic relationships with mills, fabric and trim suppliers, and innovation partners, including negotiation of costs, lead times, MOQs, and development commitments
• Evaluate supplier capabilities, capacity, quality performance, and sustainability initiatives while driving supplier optimization and sourcing efficiency
• Manage material development timelines and critical paths across multiple product categories, ensuring timely delivery of development samples, lab dips, strike-offs, and testing submissions
• Proactively identify and mitigate risks related to material availability, supplier capacity, quality, lead times, and other critical development dependencies
• Support margin targets through material costing, value engineering, and strategic material selection while maintaining product integrity and design intent
• Drive sustainable material initiatives by identifying and implementing recycled, certified, organic, and lower-impact alternatives in line with company sustainability goals
• Act as a material expert and key stakeholder across Design, Product Development, Quality, Product Management, and Operations, supporting seasonal kick-offs, range reviews, and product milestone meetings
• Drive continuous improvement across material development and sourcing processes while ensuring material specifications, approvals, and documentation are completed in time for Go-to-Market readiness

Your stroll to CYBEX:

• Bachelor's degree in Textile Engineering, Fashion Management, Material Science, Product Development, or a related field
• Several years of professional experience in fabric, material, trim development, sourcing, or product development within the fashion, sportswear, or lifestyle industry
• Strong knowledge of textile construction, fibers, yarns, knitting, weaving, dyeing, printing, washing, and finishing processes
• Experience managing fabric mills, trim suppliers, and global sourcing partners
• Understanding product creation calendars, critical path management, and apparel manufacturing processes
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects and timelines in a fast-paced environment
• Strong negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills
• Experience working with PLM, ERP, and material management systems
• Knowledge of textile testing standards, product compliance, and sustainability certifications
• Advanced Excel and data analysis skills are preferred
• Fluent in English (written and spoken); additional languages are a plus
