Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group's Milan property is seeking an experienced Events Manager to lead groups, events sales and operations within the Events Department in Milan. You will report to the Hotel Manager and oversee detailed planning, client relations, and onsite execution at a luxury property steps from La Scala.

The ideal candidate brings 5+ years in luxury hotel events, exceptional communication in English and Italian, and a proactive leadership style.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5+ years in events, catering or conference services management in luxury hotels.
• Excellent communication; fluent English and Italian.
• Willing to work a flexible schedule and handle multiple tasks.

Responsibilities

• Support philosophy and culture to ensure guest satisfaction and mission.
• Conduct site visits per company standards.
• Maintain sales approach, customize offers with luxury attitude.
• Lead weekly group/event meetings with team and other departments.

About the job

Based at the Mandarin Oriental, Milan within the Events Department in Milan, the Events Manager is responsible for groups and events sales and operations. The Events Manager reports to the Hotel Manager.

As Events Manager, you willresponsiblefor the following duties:

• Support company's philosophy and company culture through the use of Pillars of Legendary Quality Experiences on a daily basis to ensure Guest Satisfaction and the achievement of our Mission Statement;
• Carries out site visits as per company standards;
• Ensure a “sales” approach in every lead, customizing offers and ensuring that a luxury and positive attitude is always maintained;
• Conducts weekly Group/event meetings with the team and other departments;
• Generates Banquet Event Orders, groups Resumes and business correspondence.
• Maintain an active trace system for all assigned groups. Compiles all internal database ensuring time efficiency and data accuracy as per MO policies
• Obtain necessary approvals/permits/insurance certificates for events that are required
• Contract business with approved vendors, as appropriate.
• Develop Sales Team training courses based on current performance.

As Events Manager, weexpectfrom you:

• Must have a minimum of 5+ years of experience in groups, events, catering and conference services manager or event manager; luxury hotel experience, (and City of Milan F&B Knowledge preferably) is strongly preferred;
• Excellent communication skills; fluency in English and Italian is required;
• Must be willing to work a flexible schedule in order to accomplish all major responsibilities and tasks;
• Must have the ability to handle multiple tasks at one time.
