Job summary

SBM Offshore is seeking a Lead Enterprise Architect to drive a unified architecture vision and align IT with business goals across global programs. You will lead architecture teams, govern frameworks, and ensure security, scalability, and performance while coordinating with executive stakeholders.

Targeted leadership experience in digital transformation, cloud migration, and DevOps is essential, with TOGAF or equivalent certifications preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum 7+ years in enterprise or solutions architecture, with leadership experience.

• Evolve architecture frameworks to adapt to changes.
• Manage Microsoft Center of Excellence execution with vendor partners.
• Develop an Enterprise Architecture Community within SBM Offshore.
• Embed EA into strategic programs (PACE, GED, IFS) and manage contractors.
• Drive data platforms architecture across ISP, EDP, CDW, MDM, CDF, etc.
• Align Microsoft CoE roadmap, governance and investments with SBM priorities.
• Set FinOps direction to optimize cloud consumption across IT.

Purpose

• As a Lead Enterprise Architect, you provide vision and leadership for enterprise-wide architecture strategies and initiatives. Direct and manage EA team members in defining and implementing architecture solutions that align with organizational goals. Champion technology best practices, promote alignment across business units, and ensure IT systems meet scalability, security, and performance standards. Act as the primary advisor to executive stakeholders on architectural decisions and technology roadmaps.

• Lead the development and implementation of a unified enterprise architecture vision, ensuring organization-wide alignment.
• Manage architecture teams to deliver architectural projects, fostering collaboration and resolving technical challenges.
• Govern Solution Architecture Framework connecting team activities to Stage Gate Model supporting Digital projects execution.
• Govern Reference Architecture that optimize performance, security, and scalability for critical enterprise systems.
• Ensure coherence and alignment of technology solutions across different business units.
• Define governance models to ensure compliance with security, performance, and regulatory standards.
• Lead architecture committees to validate new technologies integrated to IT landscapes.
• Continually enhance and evolve the architecture frameworks to adapt to organizational and industry changes.
• Manage Microsoft Center of Excellence execution leveraging our strategic vendor partnership.
• Develop Enterprise Architecture Community extending EA principles within SBM Offshore.
• Report ICOSIT evidence to maintain excellence in EA activities.
• Program Architecture: Embed EA into strategic programs such as PACE, GED and IFS toguide architecture decisions, reuse and alignment with enterprise standards, managing 2x contractors.
• Data Platforms Architecture (ISP, EDP, CDW, MDM, CDF, …): Drive one coherent architecture across SBM data platforms, clarifying platform roles, integration patterns and technology choices while avoiding duplication.
• Microsoft CoE: Orchestrate the Microsoft partnership to align technology roadmap, expertise, governance and investments with SBM priorities.
• Finops Practice: Set the FinOps direction and orchestrate implementation to make cloud consumption visible, controlled and optimized across IT.

Education

• Master’s Degree: A master’s degree in business administration, computer science, or a related field.
• Certifications such as ITIL (Information Technology Infrastructure Library, SAFE (Scale Agile Framework), TOGAF (The Open Group Architecture Framework), Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Azure Certified Solutions Architect or Certified Enterprise Architect (CEA) are highly desirable.
• Skills: Proficiency in enterprise architecture tools and frameworks, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent communication and leadership abilities, and a thorough understanding of business processes and IT alignment.

Experience

• Minimum of 7 years of experience in Enterprise or Solutions architecture, including 3+ years in a senior or leadership position.
• Extensive experience driving enterprise-wide digital transformation initiatives and aligning technology strategies with business objectives.
• Proven ability to design and manage scalable, secure, and high-performance IT ecosystems across diverse domains.
• Expertise in leading the adoption of architectural frameworks and methodologies, with a preference for certifications such as TOGAF or similar.
• Strong leadership skills, with experience directing architecture teams, resolving escalated technical challenges, and fostering collaboration.
• Track record of shaping long-term technology roadmaps, promoting innovation, and influencing senior leadership stakeholders.
• Hands-on experience in cloud migration, DevOps practices, and emerging technologies like AI and IoT.
• Experience in developing and tracking Objectives and Key Results (OKRs) to measure the effectiveness of enterprise architecture initiatives.
• In-depth knowledge of risk management, compliance, and security architecture.
