Job summary

Vertiv in Italy is seeking an Embedded PLC Software Engineer to develop and maintain software for control systems in thermal engineering machinery. You will translate requirements into robust PLC code and documentation, collaborating with controls engineers to deliver releases.

You will design PLC programs, run tests in lab and field, perform code reviews, and prepare training materials for maintenance and production teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Automation Engineering or related field is required.
• Minimum of 2 years of project experience with controls and automation equipment (development, programming, debugging, support).
• Knowledge of IEC 61131-3 standards and familiarity with other languages (C/C++, C#, Javascript, Python, HTML).
• Experience troubleshooting control systems and conducting software reviews.

Responsibilities

• Translate software and hardware requirements into robust PLC programs and document them.
• Design, develop and implement PLC software that meets given requirements.
• Perform prototyping, testing, code reviews and field validation.
• Deliver training and product handover to Academy, Engineering and Service teams.
