W Executive Italy seeks a Director, Human Resources & Organizational Development – EMEA in Bologna to lead HR strategy across Europe, the Middle East and Africa. You will partner with senior leaders to advance capability, leadership effectiveness, talent readiness, and employee engagement while aligning with enterprise standards and local requirements.

Competenze

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, Organizational Development, Industrial/Labor Relations, or related field.
  • 15+ years of progressive HR leadership experience in multinational, matrixed environments.
  • Responsibility for multiple sites in Europe; over $300M.
  • Experience with Union and Works Councils.
  • Strong knowledge of EMEA employment practices and country-specific requirements.
  • Ability to advise senior leaders and translate priorities into practical people strategies.
  • Fluency in English and Italian.

Position Summary: The Director, Human Resources & Organizational Development – EMEA is a strategic HR leader responsible for advancing organizational capability, leadership effectiveness, talent readiness, employee engagement, and industrial relations across the region. Reporting to the VP, Human Resources, this role partners with business and local HR leaders to execute business priorities, guide organizational change, strengthen leadership pipelines, and ensure effective employee and labor relations aligned with business objectives, enterprise standards, and local requirements.

Key Responsibilities
Business Performance & Strategic Execution
  • Partner with business leaders to translate strategic priorities into organization, talent, and workforce plans.
  • Lead HR and organizational initiatives that improve execution, accountability, decision-making, and business performance.
  • Align leadership practices, workforce capabilities, and talent strategies with current and future business needs.
Leadership Development & Organizational Capability
  • Develop leaders at all levels through executive coaching, leadership development, and targeted support for key talent.
  • Build succession pipelines and organizational capability to support growth, continuity, and transformation.
Organizational Effectiveness & Change
  • Lead organization design, effectiveness, and change management initiatives tied to business transformation.
  • Facilitate leadership alignment and adoption of new structures, processes, technologies, and ways of working.
Talent, Culture & Engagement
  • Lead talent reviews, succession planning, high-potential development, and engagement initiatives across EMEA.
  • Shape culture initiatives that strengthen performance, accountability, collaboration, retention, and organizational health.
Industrial Relations & Employee Relations
  • Provide strategic oversight for EMEA industrial relations matters, including works councils, unions, collective agreements, consultations, and labor-management engagement.
  • Monitor labor trends, regulatory developments, and employee relations risks; develop proactive mitigation and communication strategies.
Qualifications, Skills & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, Organizational Development, Industrial/Labor Relations, or related field required; advanced degree or HR certification preferred.
  • 15+ years of progressive HR leadership experience in a multinational, matrixed environment, including talent management, organizational development, change management, employee relations, and industrial relations.
  • Responsibility for multiple sites in Europe; over $300M.
  • Experienced with Union and Works Councils.
  • Strong knowledge of EMEA employment practices, labor frameworks, consultation requirements, employee representative structures, and country-specific legal and cultural considerations.
  • Demonstrated ability to advise senior leaders, influence across geographies, and convert business priorities into practical people and organization strategies.
  • Strong executive presence, judgment, communication, facilitation, coaching, negotiation, and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Fluency in English and Italian required.

  • Execution of key business, transformation, and organizational change initiatives.
  • Improved succession readiness, employee engagement, and retention across EMEA.
  • Effective industrial relations strategy, compliant consultation processes, and constructive labor-management relationships.

Salary range: RAL 120.000€ / 130.000€ + MBO + benefit
