Job summary

EDAG Group in Modena seeks a Design Responsible – Body & Closures to provide high quality engineering support to customers and lead development from concept through industrialization.

You will define specifications, lead design reviews, coordinate cross-functional teams, and drive cost optimization while ensuring compliance with regulatory and manufacturing requirements. Fluent Italian and English are required; remote work agreements are available.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Mechanical, Vehicle, Automotive Engineering or equivalent.
• At least 3 years of automotive product development experience, preferably in Body Structures and Closures.
• Experience with CAD/PLM tools and product development from concept to production launch.
• Strong understanding of materials, manufacturing processes, GD&T, and tolerance analysis.
• Ability to lead design reviews and collaborate with international teams.

Responsibilities

• Provide engineering support during proto builds, vehicle launch, and production phases.

We are seeking a skilled and knowledgeable Design Responsible – Body & Closures to provide high quality support to our customers.

Your Growth Opportunities:

• Define and manage engineering specifications for Body & Closures systems and components.
• Ensure project targets are achieved in terms of performance, quality, cost, weight, timing, and investment.
• Coordinate product development activities from concept through industrialization and service support.
• Assess design feasibility and ensure compliance with functional, safety, manufacturing, and regulatory requirements.
• Lead design reviews and support technical decision-making throughout the development process.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams and suppliers to resolve technical issues and ensure project progress.
• Support validation activities through simulations, tolerance analysis, testing, and design verification.
• Provide engineering support during proto builds, vehicle launch, and production phases.
• Drive continuous improvement, cost optimization, benchmarking, and technology scouting activities.

Your skills that will help us to get ahead:

• Master's Degree in Mechanical, Vehicle, Automotive Engineering, or equivalent.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in automotive product development, preferably within Body Structures and Closures Systems.
• Knowledge of component development from concept to production launch.
• Expertise in CAD and PLM tools (CATIA V5/V6, NX, Teamcenter, ENOVIA, VIS-Mockup).
• Strong understanding of materials, manufacturing processes, GD&T, and tolerance analysis.
• Technical leadership, problem-solving mindset, and decision-making skills.
• Ability to operate effectively within international and cross-functional teams.
• Fluent in Italian and English.

Total compensation:

• Contract type: [Permanent contract]
• Level: CCNL Commercio
• Gross annual salary (RAL): €[30.000] - €[45.000] (determined on the basis of objective, neutral, and verifiable criteria)
• Benefits: meal vouchers €6.50, corporate agreements/discounts
• Smart working: individual remote working agreements
• Working hours: Full-time (40 hours per week) with flexibility
