Job summary

Ingersoll Rand Gorle, Italy, is seeking a Design Engineer to support the design and development of rotary/centrifugal compressors and related mechanical systems for oil and gas applications. Strong CAD modeling and mechanical design experience are essential.

You will collaborate with external engineering partners, ensure compliance with API/ASME/ISO standards, and contribute to design reviews, risk assessments, and value engineering.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, or related field.
• Experience with CAD software (SolidWorks, Inventor, Creo or NX) is a plus.
• Strong understanding of rotary/centrifugal compressor mechanics and thermodynamics.

Responsibilities

• Design auxiliary systems, baseplate, mechanical/electrical components to meet project requirements.
• Ensure proper material selection based on environment and project needs.
• Coordinate with external engineering company and participate in reviews.

Job Summary

We are looking for a technically proficient and detail-driven Design Engineer to support the design and development of rotary / centrifugal compressors and related mechanical systems within the oil and gas industry. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical design, CAD modeling, and industrial standards relevant to oil & gas applications and will coordinate activities alongside external engineering company as well.

Responsibilities

• Design of auxiliary systems, baseplate, mechanical/electrical components, tank, vessel etc to meet the project requirements
• Ensure proper selection of Material Selection based on environmental / process conditions and project requirements
• Ability to select instrumentation and electrical component is considered a plus
• Perform Risk Assessment and Design Validation
• Ability to manage Root Cause Analysis
• Support the Cost Optimization and Value Engineering while designing parts and skid
• Support specific Customer meeting relating to the 3D model review (30%, 60%, 90%), HFE meetings , review meetings, design review meetings
• Maintain version control and ensure compliance with industry standards (API, ASME, ISO)

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, or related field
• Experience with CAD software such as SolidWorks, Autodesk Inventor, Creo, or Siemens NX (3-5 yrs experience) is a plus
• Strong understanding of rotary/centrifugal compressor mechanics and thermodynamic principles
• Familiarity with oil & gas equipment standards and operational environments or similar
• Experience with offshore application (NORSOK knowledge) is considered a plus
• Experience with simulation tools (e.g., ANSYS, COMSOL) is a plus
• Ability to interpret P&IDs and engineering specifications
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Strong communication and collaboration abilities
• Fluency in English; additional languages are a plus.
