Job summary

Ingersoll Rand is seeking a Design Engineer in Gorle, Italy to support the design and development of rotary/centrifugal compressors and related mechanical systems within the oil and gas industry.

The role requires a strong background in mechanical design, CAD modeling, and adherence to industry standards (API, ASME, ISO). Collaboration with external engineering partners is part of the job.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Experience with CAD software such as SolidWorks, Autodesk Inventor, Creo, or Siemens NX (3–5 yrs) is a plus.
• Strong understanding of rotary/centrifugal compressor mechanics and thermodynamics.

Responsibilities

• Design of auxiliary systems, baseplate, mechanical/electrical components, tank, vessel etc. to meet project requirements.
• Select materials based on environmental and process conditions.
• Possibly select instrumentation and electrical components.
• Perform risk assessment and design validation.
• Manage root cause analysis.
• Support cost optimization and value engineering while designing parts and skid.
• Participate in 3D model reviews with customers and internal meetings.
• Maintain version control and ensure compliance with API, ASME, ISO standards.
