Job summary

ABB is seeking a role focused on the production, installation, maintenance and repair of electric motors and generators in an onsite setting in Italy. You will perform specialized mechanical assembly tasks within the Motion Service division and contribute to efficient operation of equipment and systems.

The position involves following ABB processes, ensuring safety, troubleshooting, coordinating materials, and occasionally working at customer sites to support installations and service.

Qualifications

• Solid knowledge of electric motors and mechanical principles.
• Ability to use calipers, micrometers and comparators for measurements.
• Basic knowledge of insulation principles for electrical machines.

Responsibilities

• Assist in production, installation, maintenance and repair of motors and generators.
• Perform mechanical assembly tasks following workflows and ABB processes.
• Troubleshoot and report issues during assembly or testing.
• Ensure availability of materials to complete work per workflows.
• Occasionally perform activities at customer sites.

Your role and responsibilities

In this role, you will play a vital part in the production, installation, maintenance, and repair of electric motors and generators and related components. You will ensure the smooth operation and efficiency of equipment and systems, performing specialized mechanical assembly tasks as part of the production process.

The work model for the role is: Onsite; the role is contributing to the Motion Service division in Italy, based in Vittuone (Milan). You will join a dynamic and collaborative team where you can thrive and develop your skills.

• Executing assigned tasks according to agreed workflows and ABB standard processes, ensuring compliance with safety guidelines.
• Troubleshooting and reporting any issues during assembly or testing.
• Ensuring the availability of required materials to execute work according to defined workflows.
• Maintaining proper operation and daily upkeep of equipment, addressing malfunctions to meet production schedules.
• Occasionally performing activities at customer sites

Qualifications for the role

• Solid knowledge of electric motors, bearings, and general mechanical principles.
• Skilled in using mechanical measurement tools (caliper, micrometer, comparators).
• Basic understanding of mechanical assembly processes.
• It will be consider as plus the ability to communicate in English (spoken and written).
• Availability for occasional travel to customer sites.
• Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and ability to work in a team
• Basic knowledge of insulation principles for electrical machines and electromechanical dynamics.
• Office package (xls, word, ppt)

Compensation Package

Applicable CBA: Metalmeccanico
Minimum annual salary: Production Employee (Operaio) minimum of Level C1 of the CBA
Variable Pay: Eligible for Company Productivity Bonus
