EssilorLuxottica Group in Italy is seeking a motivated Controlling Intern to support the main Italian logistics and business operations across Barberini and Pescara. You will gain hands-on experience in both industrial and commercial controlling activities, partnering with different functions to monitor performance.

As an intern, you will analyze costs, margins and KPIs, contribute to reporting and budgeting, and develop insights that drive better decision making.

Competenze

• You are pursuing a Master’s Degree in Economics, Finance or related field.
• Fluency in Italian and English.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Excel.
• Able to collaborate with stakeholders.

Your role

We are looking for a motivated, curious and enterprising candidate to join our Controlling team, supporting the main Italian logistics and business operations across the Barberini, Pescara.

As a Controlling Intern, you will have the opportunity to gain hands‑on experience across both industrial and commercial controlling activities, working closely with different business functions and contributing to the monitoring and analysis of operational and financial performance.

The role will give you exposure not only to cost controlling activities, but also to the commercial side of the business, through the analysis of sales, margins and key business performance indicators.

Main responsibilities

• Standard costing analysis;
• Direct cost and variance analysis;
• Sales and revenue analysis, monitoring performance versus budget, forecast and previous periods;
• Margin and profitability analysis, identifying the main drivers behind business performance;
• Monitoring and analysis of relevant commercial and financial KPIs;
• Support in periodic reporting and performance analysis;
• Support in budgeting and forecasting activities;
• Collaboration with different business functions to understand performance trends and provide meaningful insights;
• Identification of opportunities to improve and streamline the function’s processes and reporting tools.

Main requirements

• You are a team player with a proactive and curious mindset;
• You have or are currently completing a Master’s Degree in Economics, Finance, Management or a related field;
• You have a strong interest in Controlling, Finance and Business Analysis;
• You are interested in combining a financial perspective with an understanding of both operational and commercial business dynamics;
• You have strong analytical and problem‑solving skills;
• You are confident working with numbers and large amounts of data;
• You are a great communicator and are comfortable collaborating with different stakeholders;
• Fluency in both Italian and English;
• Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel is considered a strong plus.
