JD Ross Energy in Milan, Italy, is seeking a Commercial Contracts Specialist / Legal Counsel to support renewable energy and energy storage projects across Italy and the EMEA region. You will negotiate, draft, and manage commercial agreements, provide risk assessments, and advise project teams.

The role requires a law degree and 3–5+ years in renewables or infra, with strong drafting, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.

Competenze

• Degree in Law or related field.
• 3–5+ years of experience in renewable energy, energy storage, construction or infra.
• Strong contract drafting and commercial law knowledge.
• Experience in a Contracts, Commercial or Legal department.
• Excellent negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to explain complex legal matters to non-legal audiences.
• Analytical, proactive and commercially focused.
• Fluent Italian (C1).

Our client is a global renewable energy technology leader, renowned for delivering advanced solar PV and battery energy storage solutions to utility-scale, commercial, and industrial customers worldwide. With a rapidly growing presence across Europe, they are at the forefront of the clean energy transition and are seeking a talented legal and contracts professional to support their continued expansion.

The Opportunity:

Joining a highly collaborative Legal & Contracts team, you will play a key role in supporting major renewable energy projects across Italy and the wider EMEA region. Acting as a trusted advisor to internal stakeholders, you will help manage contractual risk while enabling commercial success across a portfolio of cutting-edge solar and energy storage projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Negotiate, draft, and manage commercial contracts for renewable energy projects across Italy and EMEA
• Support contract activities for Solar PV and Energy Storage business units
• Review and prepare framework agreements, sales contracts, NDAs, and general terms & conditions
• Identify contractual risks and propose practical commercial solutions
• Lead contract negotiations with new and existing customers
• Prepare contract summaries and risk assessments for project teams
• Support the resolution of contractual and commercial disputes
• Ensure compliance with internal governance, policies, and business processes

What We're Looking For:

• Degree in Law or a related business discipline
• 3-5+ years of experience within the renewable energy, energy storage, construction, or infrastructure sectors
• Strong understanding of commercial contract law and contract drafting
• Experience working within a Contracts, Commercial, or Legal department
• Excellent negotiation and stakeholder management skills
• Ability to communicate complex legal matters to non-legal audiences
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and reporting capabilities
• Proactive and commercially focused approach
• Fluent Italian (C1 level)
