Leap29 seeks a Country Manager for Italy to drive growth, oversee project origination and development, and manage strategic transactions in the Italian renewable energy sector.

The role requires senior leadership, deep market knowledge, and a proven track record in delivering large-scale solar and energy projects through development to delivery.

Competenze

• Senior experience in renewable energy / solar PV / energy infrastructure.
• Strong knowledge of the Italian renewable energy market, permitting and grid environment.

Our client is a leading international renewable energy platform seeking a Country Manager for Italy to lead the growth and development of its Italian business.

The role combines country-level leadership with a strong focus on project origination, development, project management and M&A. The successful candidate will be responsible for building the project pipeline, identifying investment opportunities, leading strategic transactions and overseeing projects through development and delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the Italian market strategy, business development and overall country performance.
• Originate and develop a pipeline of utility-scale solar and renewable energy projects.
• Build relationships with developers, investors, utilities, landowners, EPCs and other key stakeholders.
• Identify, evaluate and lead M&A, acquisitions, JVs and strategic partnerships.
• Oversee projects from early-stage development through permitting, grid connection and construction readiness.
• Lead project management across scope, budget, schedule, quality and risk.
• Provide technical and commercial oversight of projects and investment opportunities.
• Lead and develop the Italian team, working closely with European engineering, finance, legal, investment and development functions.
• Represent the business with senior external stakeholders and support investment and strategic decision-making.

Candidate Profile

• Senior experience within renewable energy / solar PV / energy infrastructure, ideally in Italy.
• Engineering degree or equivalent technical qualification.
• Strong track record in project origination and development.
• Proven project management experience across complex renewable energy projects.
• Experience with M&A, acquisitions, JVs or strategic transactions.
• Strong understanding of the Italian renewable energy, permitting and grid environment.
• Established network across the Italian renewable energy market.
• Strong commercial, technical and negotiation skills.
