Job summary

Baker Hughes in Italy is seeking a Construction Manager to support operations at the Avenza Plant, ensuring safety, schedule, and cost control. You will oversee day‑to‑day site activities, coordinate contractors, and drive continuous improvement across construction phases.

Requirements include a Master’s degree in Engineering, 5+ years of construction experience, fluency in English and Italian, and knowledge of fabrication, welding, QC, and site quality.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Engineering or equivalent in a relevant technical discipline.
• Solid knowledge of workplace health, safety and quality standards and practices.
• 5+ years of experience within operational construction activities, site operations, or production environments.
• Familiar with fabrication and construction processes, welding procedures, material compliance, and site quality requirements.
• Experience coordinating complex projects within structured and matrixed organizations.
• Fluent in English and Italian, with a valid EU work permit.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with BH Health, Safety and Environment Management System requirements.
• Lead and supervise construction operation on site.
• Guarantee performance of (sub) Contractors in terms of timing, cost, quality and safety.
• Define and release the Project Schedule for construction/commissioning and testing activities.
• Drive lessons learned at project and product level.
• Define and monitor KPIs to meet operational objectives and identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Monitor construction progress and drive process optimization.
• Support QA/QC activities and site inspections, including NCRs and corrective actions.
• Coordinate effectively with Customer representatives and subcontractors to ensure clear execution.

As a Construction Manager, you will support and execute construction activities on Avenza Plant, ensuring alignment with project requirements, safety standards, and operational excellence. You will play a key role in overseeing day‑to‑day site operations, coordinating contractors, and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives across the construction phase.

As a Construction Manager, you will be responsible for:

• Ensuring full compliance with BH Health, Safety and Environment Management System requirements, promoting a strong safety culture on site.
• Leading & Supervising the construction operation
• Responsible for guaranteeing performances of (sub) Contractors working at site, in terms of timing, cost control, quality and safety.
• Define and release the Project Schedule for construction/commissioning and Testing activities in close coordination with planning department
• Driving and Implementing Lessons Learned at project and product level
• Defining and monitoring performance management KPI’s to ensure all the operational objectives are met, seeking and securing opportunities for cost savings
• Monitoring construction progress and contribute to the optimization and continuous improvement of processes in response to operational needs.
• Assisting in identifying opportunities for process efficiencies, contributing to improvement initiatives within a broader functional context.
• Supporting the QA/QC team in site activities, including the preparation of non‑conformance reports and follow‑up of corrective actions.
• Maintaining effective communication and coordination with Customer representatives to address and resolve field issues.
• Ensuring proper coordination with subcontractors to guarantee clarity in execution, alignment with project requirements, and timely delivery.
