Job summary

Baker Hughes is seeking a Construction Manager to support and execute construction activities at the Avenza Plant, ensuring safety, alignment with project requirements and operational excellence. You will oversee day-to-day site operations, coordinate contractors, and drive continuous improvement during the construction phase.

The role requires a Master’s degree in Engineering, 5+ years’ experience in construction or production environments, and fluency in English and Italian with a valid EU

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Engineering or equivalent in a relevant technical discipline.
• 5+ years of experience within operational construction activities, site operations, or production environments.
• Fluent in English and Italian, with a valid EU work permit.
• Solid knowledge of workplace health, safety and quality standards and practices.
• Experience coordinating complex projects within structured and matrixed organizations.
• Familiar with welding procedures, material compliance, and site quality requirements.
• Able to coordinate with subcontractors and deliver timely results.

Responsibilities

• Ensure full compliance with Baker Hughes Health, Safety and Environment Management System requirements, promoting a strong safety culture on site.
• Lead and supervise the construction operation.
• Guarantee performances of (sub) Contractors working at site, in terms of timing, cost control, quality and safety.
• Define and release the Project Schedule for construction/commissioning and Testing activities in close coordination with planning department.
• Drive and implement lessons learned at project and product level.
• Define and monitor performance management KPIs to ensure all operational objectives are met, seeking opportunities for cost savings.
• Monitor construction progress and contribute to the optimization and continuous improvement of processes in response to operational needs.
• Assist in identifying opportunities for process efficiencies, contributing to improvement initiatives within a broader functional context.
• Support the QA/QC team in site activities, including preparation of non-conformance reports and follow-up of corrective actions.
• Maintain effective communication and coordination with Customer representatives to address and resolve field issues.
• Ensure proper coordination with subcontractors to guarantee clarity in execution, alignment with project requirements, and timely delivery.

• Be fluent in English and Italian, with a valid EU work permit.
• Exhibit strong communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with technical teams and customers.

For Italy: The initial pay range for this position will be EUR 43,600 To 70,000.

"The provisions of Contratto Collettivo Industria Metalmeccanica e della installazione di impianti will be applied to this position. Section VI – Titolo IV of that collective bargaining agreement relates to pay".
