Leonardo is seeking a Senior Category Manager for the Electronics Business Area in Rome Tiburtina or Cisterna di Latina. The role centers on strategic purchasing, supplier base optimization and tender management to ensure a reliable supply chain for production needs.

The position requires an Engineering degree, expert-level experience, English at least B1, and hands-on knowledge of SAP, Microsoft Office and Power BI. The contract is permanent and hybrid.

• Knowledge of purchasing markets for electronic components and PCB/PCBA.
• Strong negotiation, communication, and organizational skills; results-oriented and proactive.

Mansioni

• Perform supply chain segmentation based on capabilities matrices and risk analysis to ensure a reliable supply chain for business needs.
• Study and monitor the supply market and macro-categories, including predictive market risk analyses (shortages, inflation).
• Manage tenders from needs assessment to RFQ, evaluating offers, negotiating with suppliers, and drafting supply agreements.
• Contribute to product/service development by optimizing the supplier base to align engineering choices with production efficiency.

Within the Electronics Business Area, we are looking for a Category Manager for one of our offices in Rome Tiburtina or Cisterna di Latina.

The person will mainly deal with the following activities:

• Supply Chain segmentation based on Capabilities matrices and risk analysis to ensure a constantly reliable and adequate supply chain for Business needs;
• Study and verification of the supply market and macro-categories of purchase, monitoring and management of critical issues with analyzes, including predictive ones, of market risks (i.e. shortage and inflation);
• Management of tenders (from identified needs to RFQ issuance, analysis and comparison of offers, negotiation activities with suppliers, issuance and management of supply agreements) aimed at stipulating Framework Agreements;
• Contribution to the development phases of new products/services through the optimization of the supplier base to ensure that the engineering choices of the project are aligned with the executive effectiveness/efficiency in Production.

Educational Qualification: Degree in Engineering, preferably with a focus on Electronics.

Level of experience required: Expert/Senior

Technical skills Knowledge of the specific purchasing market (electronic components, PCB/PCBA)

Behavioral skills Negotiation skills; Relationship and communication skills (colleagues and suppliers); Organizational skills (setting and planning work, managing priorities); orientation towards achieving results; adaptability and flexibility to work needs and spirit of initiative.

Language skills Spoken and written English - minimum B1 level

IT knowledge Use of company tools (SAP; Microsoft Office package, Power BI)

How does the selection process work?

• Following the collection of applications, CVs most in line with the required requirements are evaluated and identified.
• Selected candidates undergo a cognitive interview with the Human Resources team, motivational and aptitude, followed by an in-depth technical interview with the Business.
• At the end of the process, the person receives feedback, both in case of a positive and negative outcome.
