Leonardo S.p.A. in Cascina Costa (VA), Italy, seeks a Material & Production Planning Specialist to oversee the mechanical workshop production and support helicopter assembly lines.

You will plan weekly workloads, check material availability, and coordinate with external partners to optimize production and reduce lead times. The role requires an engineering degree, 1–3 years of relevant experience, and familiarity with SAP and Excel.

Competenze

• Degree in Management, Mechanical or Aeronautical Engineering.
• Junior 1–3 years of experience in production planning or related area.
• Experience with ERP systems, especially SAP, and Excel.

Mansioni

• Plan and monitor production for parts supporting helicopter assembly and related programs.
• Coordinate material availability, expediting, and recovery actions to meet targets.
• Analyze workloads, manage MRP orders, and coordinate external processing.

Within the Operations Area, we are looking for a Material & Production Planning Specialist for the Mechanical Workshop to join our site in Cascina Costa (VA), Italy.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• The candidate is responsible for planning and monitoring the production process of the parts required to support the Assembly Programs for Transmissions for Helicopter Assembly Lines, Partners and Joint Venture, and spare parts for Repair & Overhaul and Customer Support.
• The candidate contributes to meet working capital budget and productivity targets.
• Main activities carried out by the team members: Prepare weekly plans for each machine/workshop considering capacity and priorities; Analyse workloads to identify possible underloads/overloads and propose short-, medium- and long-term solutions; Analyse production progress, manage expediting requests and priorities, and define targeted recovery plans; Participate in progress review meetings to share information and define recovery actions, priorities and urgent activities; update progress tracking files and forecasts; Analyse the orders planned by the MRP system, verify the availability of the raw material/semi-finished product, analyse the applicable routing and evaluate the release of the work order; Evaluate and manage any split work orders for delivery/production/quality need; Analyse and monitor production progress, verify forecasts and exception messages, manage expediting requests and define priorities for the departments involved and for the external processing coordinators; Monitor recovery actions for non-conformity reports identified in the Machine Shop, the Transmission Assembly Department and from returns from other sites; release rework orders or evaluate scrapping in compliance with budgets and cost allocation rules according to the responsibility for the defect; manage and coordinate rework activities; Verify material requests received from other sites and Leonardo Helicopters, provide quotations for delivery dates and quantities in order to define how orders should be issued, create deliveries; Analyse excess inventory and stock with months of coverage outside the target defined by the working capital budget, identify solutions to reduce inventory and recover value, and monitor stagnant stock held in quarantine with high ageing; Create purchase requisitions or purchase orders for external operations, create deliveries for materials to be processed externally. Monitor and expedite the involved suppliers.

REQUIREMENTS:

Education: Degree (Bachelor's or Master's) or Technical High School Diploma in Management, Mechanical or Aeronautical Engineering. Seniority: junior 1–3 years of experience Technical skills and competencies: good knowledge of mechanical manufacturing processes; experience in Production Planning, Material Requirement Planning, Supply Chain, Materials Management or Logistics within manufacturing companies characterised by complex production processes, or consulting projects in these areas. Soft skills: Planning and organizational skills and process-oriented mindset Ability to manage priorities and urgent requests in a dynamic environment Collaboration, teamwork, communication and cross-functional coordination skills Results-oriented with a focus on operational excellence and analytical and problem-solving skills Language skills: Intermediate command of the English language (A2/B1 level); Digital skills: Experience with ERP (preferably SAP) Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other standard Microsoft Office applications.
