Leonardo S.p.A. is seeking a Junior Logistic Engineer for its Cascina Costa site in Varese, Italy. The role focuses on supporting budgeting, material management, and warehouse optimization within a hybrid working arrangement. English proficiency (B2/C1) and willingness to travel are required.

The position is permanent and part of a broader logistics team, with a strong emphasis on process improvements, KPI monitoring, and cross-functional collaboration across the plant.

Within the MRP, Planning & Logistics Processes & Governance Area, we are looking for a Logistic Engineer to join our site in Cascina Costa (VA), Italy.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Support Logistic & Material Management unit in providing the Logistic budget.
• Manage the budgeting and forecasting process for the whole Operations organization;
• Support the definition and minimization of plant material handling and optimization of internal warehouse flow;
• Cooperate with Logistic & Material Management unit to identify improvement and efficiency initiatives.
• Perform B/C analysis.
• Monitor and report progresses of the relevant logistic projects launched;
• Act as BPO-Business Process Owner for Digital Solution initiatives in the Logistics area, taking decision responsibility and ensuring that decisions are coherent with business objectives.
• Train and support plant key-users in adopting new solutions/processes;
• Support the Plants in the management of Logistic service provider activities;
• Monitor and analyse Logistics Cost Deployment;
• Support the definition of packaging requirements towards the external supply chain ensuring coherence to the standards defined within the Leonardo Production System;
• Define and standardize logistic procedures and processes within logistics area. Moreover, share among plants the logistic best practices;
• Manage the Governance of Transports supporting Logistic & Material Management unit and Transportation Control Tower;
• Define, Monitor and analyse logistic KPIs.

REQUIREMENTS

• Education: Bachelor's or Master's Degree in a related business discipline;
• Seniority: junior 1–3 years of experience - Technical skills and competencies: Proven background in effective problem solving technique; Experienced in process improvement with a good understanding of a range of improvement techniques.
• Soft skills: Good communicator with a flexible and conscientious approach and the ability to relay concepts and conclusions effectively, to experts and non-experts, at all levels; Ability to understand and quantify task contents to prioritise and assign appropriately; Project management, time management and presentation skills. Accuracy is essential.
• Language skills: Excellent command of the English language (B2/C1 level)
• Digital skills: competency above a basic level with the following software systems: MS Excel, MS PowerBI, SAP ERP, MS Power Point.
• Additional requirements: willingness to travel

THE SELECTION PROCESS

How does the selection process work? Following the application collection phase, the CVs that best match the required qualifications will be evaluated and shortlisted. Selected candidates will take part in an introductory interview with the Human Resources team, focusing on motivation and aptitude, followed by an in-depth technical interview with the relevant Business function.
