Atlas Copco is seeking an Electronics Commodity Lead & Supplier Development Engineer to drive the electronics sourcing strategy and build a resilient supplier base. You will work with R&D, Industrialization, Quality, Production and Supply Chain to ensure supplier readiness, cost competitiveness, and component availability for new product introductions and evolving electronics-driven portfolios.

You will report to the Sourcing Manager and lead supplier performance reviews, lifecycle management

Competenze

• Degree in electronics or related technical discipline.
• 5+ years in electronics sourcing, supplier development or procurement in manufacturing.
• Strong knowledge of electronic components, PCB assemblies and EMS.
• Experience with NPIs, industrialization and supplier qualification activities.

Your role

As a Electronics Commodity Lead & Supplier Development Engineer, your mission is to lead the Electronics commodity sourcing strategy and develop a competitive, resilient and future-ready supplier base. Working closely with R&D, Industrialization, Quality, Production and Supply Chain, you ensure supplier readiness, cost competitiveness, component availability and technology alignment to support business growth, new product introductions and the company’s evolving electronics-driven portfolio.

You will report to Sourcing Manager.

You Will

• Define and support the implementation of sourcing strategies for the Electronics commodity.
• Develop and manage suppliers for electronic components, PCB assemblies, EMS providers, power electronics, sensors, connectivity solutions and related technologies.
• Drive supplier development initiatives focused on quality, capacity, manufacturing robustness, delivery performance and continuous improvement.
• Support new product introductions by ensuring supplier readiness, component availability and industrial feasibility.
• Collaborate closely with R&D Hardware, Industrialization and Quality teams to evaluate technical solutions and supplier capabilities.
• Identify and implement cost reduction opportunities through should-cost analysis, value engineering and supplier collaboration.
• Support lifecycle management activities, including EOL monitoring, alternative sourcing strategies and continuity planning.
• Lead supplier performance reviews and development plans for strategic electronics suppliers.
• Identify emerging technologies, suppliers and market trends relevant to future product roadmaps.
• Analyze sourcing and supply chain data independently and provide actionable recommendations for optimization and risk mitigation.
• Support digitalization and continuous improvement initiatives within the Sourcing organization.

To succeed, you will need

Qualifications

• Degree in Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or related technical discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in electronics sourcing, supplier development, technical procurement or supplier quality within manufacturing environments.
• Strong knowledge of electronic components, PCB assemblies, EMS suppliers and electronics manufacturing processes.
• Experience supporting NPI, industrialization and supplier qualification activities.
• Knowledge of cost engineering, value engineering and supply chain risk management principles.
• Good knowledge of ERP systems, preferably SAP MM.
• Experience with Power BI, advanced Excel and data-driven decision making.
• Strong analytical, communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Fluent in Italian and English.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with EMS, embedded systems, industrial electronics or power electronics.
• Knowledge of component lifecycle management and obsolescence mitigation.
• Experience with AI-related hardware, connectivity solutions or advanced electronic architectures.
• Familiarity with PLM systems and digital product development environments.
• Experience in international supplier development and cross-functional environments.

• Compensation: starting salary for the relevant pay range from 47K gross per year, plus variable compensation and a collective profit-sharing bonus. The overall compensation package offered will be determined based on various factors, including, but not limited to, internal pay equity, level of responsibility, and the experience and skills of the selected candidate.

This role offers a hybrid working arrangement, allowing you to split your time between working remotely and being on-site at Atlas Copco BLM in PADERNO DUGNANO, Italy (IT).
