Baker Hughes is seeking a Sourcing Professional - Direct Material to join its Industry & Energy Technology team in Italy. You will support procurement strategy, negotiate with suppliers, and drive cost-out initiatives while aligning with product leadership and engineering partners.

The role requires a degree in Engineering or Economics, fluency in English and Italian, and willingness to travel. Onsite work pattern and a comprehensive benefits package are offered.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to develop and execute long term procurement strategies for the assigned commodity
• Integrate commodity strategies with product leadership, sales, engineering and manufacturing objectives
• Lead supplier selection, development and supplier management with cross-functional support
• Partner with Product Leadership, Sales and Engineering on product strategy of the selected commodity
• Develop negotiation strategies and lead negotiations to meet supply chain goals
• Negotiate and issue purchase orders achieving low cost while balancing quality and schedules
• Develop procurement initiatives for cost-out, deflation, cycle reduction and cash-flow improvements
• Leverage S&OP data to match supplier capacity with business goals

Partner with the best

The Buyer for Direct Material (Sourcing Professional) contributes to procurement strategy for his/her product and execute order placement and agreements with suppliers supporting business KPIs.

• Contribute to develop and execute long term strategies for the assigned commodity, ensuring best performance for procurement KPI
• Integrate commodity strategies into product leadership, sales, engineering, and manufacturing objectives.
• Deal with New Product Development, driving supplier selection, development, and overall supplier management with support of engineering, sales, product leadership and other procurement team in accordance with the business strategy
• Partner and be a point of reference for Product Leadership, Sales and Engineering for product strategy of the assigned commodity
• Develop negotiation strategies and leading negotiations to achieve stated goals and objectives of supply chain for Single PO as well as Strategic Partnership
• Negotiate and issue purchase orders with suppliers achieving lowest possible cost for material, balanced against optimum quality and schedule needs
• Develop Procurement initiatives for cost out program, deflation, cycle reduction, BVC Procurement and cash flow improvement (e.g. rebate, payment terms)
• Leverage S&OP data to match and optimize supplier capacity with business goals

• Have a Bachelor's/Master degree from an accredited university or college in Engineering or Economic with experience in procurement or commodity management
• Have entry-level experience in Procurement, Operations, Supply Chain is nice to have
• Be fluent in English and Italian, both in writing and speaking

• Have analytical mindset with a proven ability to resolve problems and identify solutions
• Possess strong oral and written communication skills
