Baker Hughes Company is seeking a Sourcing Professional in Italy to lead direct material procurement strategies and supplier management. The role collaborates with Product Leadership, Sales and Engineering to optimize cost, quality, and delivery while driving long-term commodity plans.

The successful candidate will have a engineering or economics background with procurement exposure, fluency in English and Italian, and strong negotiation and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute long-term procurement strategies for the assigned commodity.
• Align commodity strategies with product leadership, sales, and manufacturing goals.
• Lead supplier selection, development, and overall supplier management with cross-functional support.
• Collaborate with Product Leadership, Sales and Engineering on commodity strategy.
• Develop negotiation strategies and lead negotiations for single PO and strategic partnerships.
• Negotiate and issue purchase orders to optimize cost, quality, and schedule.

The Buyer for Direct Material (Sourcing Professional)

• Contribute to develop and execute long term strategies for the assigned commodity, ensuring best performance for procurement KPI
• Integrate commodity strategies into product leadership, sales, engineering, and manufacturing objectives.
• Deal with New Product Development, driving supplier selection, development, and overall supplier management with support of engineering, sales, product leadership and other procurement team in accordance with the business strategy
• Partner and be a point of reference for Product Leadership, Sales andEngineering for product strategy of the assigned commodity
• Develop negotiation strategies and leading negotiations to achieve stated goals and objectives of supply chain for Single PO as well as Strategic Partnership
• Negotiate and issue purchase orders with suppliers achieving lowest possible cost for material, balanced against optimum quality and schedule needs
• Develop Procurement initiatives for cost out program, deflation, cycle reduction, BVC Procurement and cash flow improvement (e.g. rebate, payment terms)
• Leverage S&OP data to match and optimize supplier capacity with business goals

To be successful in this role you will:

• Have a Bachelor’s/Master degree from an accredited university or college in Engineering or Economic with experience in procurement or commodity management
• Have entry-level experience in Procurement, Operations, Supply Chain is nice to have
• Be fluent in English and Italian, both in writing and speaking
• Possess excellent communication and influencing skills
• Have analytical mindset with a proven ability to resolve problems and identify solutions
• Possess strong oral and written communication skills
• Be able to document, plan, market, and execute programs
• Be available to travel
