Mercor is seeking a Bengali-language annotator to prepare training data for document understanding projects. You will precisely transcribe and annotate Bengali pages, including multi-column layouts, handwriting, and diagrams, ensuring faithful script and correct reading order.

As a native Bengali speaker, you will record document metadata, flag illegible regions, and collaborate with a second expert reviewer to achieve high-quality results across hundreds of pages.

Competenze

• Native Bengali speaker with full command of Bengali script and orthography.
• Experience with annotation, transcription, localization, proofreading or document review is advantageous.
• High emphasis on character-level accuracy and consistent taxonomy across pages.
• Comfortable working with multi-column layouts and handwritten forms.

Mansioni

• Annotate structure of Bengali documents: bind regions like title, headings, paragraphs, tables, figures, captions and other components with types and reading order.
• Link page regions to corresponding figures/tables via parent IDs.
• Transcribe text exactly as it appears in Bengali, flagging illegible regions.
• Record page metadata: language, document type, source, page dimensions, and indicators for tables, formulas and handwriting.
• Undergo peer review by a second Bengali expert to ensure quality.
