Job summary

Leonardo is seeking an Avionic System Engineer at the junior level for its Varese/Cascina Costa site in IT. Hybrid working arrangement with a permanent contract is offered, reflecting an emphasis on developing integration of avionic systems and leading system reviews.

The role focuses on capturing and deriving avionics requirements, defining electro-avionics design, and coordinating with suppliers and customers to ensure certification and successful trials.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Aeronautical, Electrical, Electronic, or Automation Engineering.
• Good command of English (written and spoken).
• Strong problem-solving skills and analytical mindset.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Capture, allocation, derivation, validation and verification of Avionics System requirements and architecture.
• Define electro-avionics design and integration with functional schematics and Interface Control Documents.
• Develop system level requirements for software components.
• Lead System Requirements Reviews, Design Reviews, SW Requirements Reviews, Test Readiness Review, Flight Clearance and Final Qualification Reviews.
• Prepare detailed equipment specifications and monitor supplier development and qualification activity.
• Prepare and execute bench and aircraft test procedures for Avionics systems and participate in trials.
• Prepare Certification documentation for Avionics Systems.
• Provide technical management of external suppliers and support to production and customer support.
• Liaise with customers and support bid activities.
