Saipem Offshore Construction is seeking an Automation Engineer to design, test, and commission automation systems for Pipeline Technologies. You will work on ST-based PLC programming and OO software (C++, C#, Python) to interface with data acquisition and SCADA systems.

SOC brings together all operational activities in Italy related to fabrication, technical services, maintenance, and logistics, providing essential support for the execution of offshore construction and offshore wind projects.
Purpose of the position: As Automation Engineer you will be part of the Offshore construction business line. You will be involved in the development, testing and commissioning of automation systems and automation monitoring solutions for Industry 4.0, applied to the Oil & Gas industry and in particular to pipelay activities.As Automation Engineer you will be part of the Pipelines Technologies Innovation department of Saipem.

What are we looking for?
An Automation Engineer, even with limited experience, to be introduced in the team leading the design, development, testing and commissioning of automation systems and automation monitoring solutions for Pipeline Technologies.
The role requires working on automation solutions for industrial production sites, with commissioning and technical support activities carried out both onshore and offshore, depending on the project needs. The selected candidate will be involved in software and automation activities across the full machine lifecycle, from system design and integration to site commissioning and operational support.
Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Automation Engineering or in a related engineering discipline (Mechatronics, Electronics, Computer Engineering)
Background: Preferably, 1-2 years' experience in automation systems development and be familiar with at least one industrial automation platform (Beckhoff, B&R, Siemens or Rockwell). University projects or internship within automation engineering, electronics or computer engineering.
Languages: English: very good command of written and spoken language, good knowledge of technical English; Italian language: full command.
