Job summary

Lear Corporation in Italy is seeking a detail-oriented Assistant Plant Controller to support the financial performance of manufacturing operations. You will partner with the Plant Controller and cross-functional teams to provide financial analysis, ensure accurate reporting and maintain internal controls.

You will help with budgeting, forecasting, month-end close, inventory valuation, and cost accounting, gaining exposure to ERP systems and process improvements in a dynamic production setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in financial controlling, accounting, or auditing.
• Fluency in English and Italian; advanced Microsoft Excel skills. ERP experience including Hyperion is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting processes.
• Analyze plant performance, manufacturing costs, and profitability trends.
• Assist with inventory valuation, standard costing, and BOM costing activities.
• Ensure compliance with accounting policies, SOX requirements, and internal control procedures.
• Prepare recurring and ad hoc financial reports and analyses for management.
• Review pricing data and evaluate turnover, margins, and profitability.
• Maintain financial data within ERP and reporting systems, including Hyperion.
• Support month-end closing activities and variance analysis.
• Partner with operational teams to resolve financial issues and drive improvements.

About the Role

• Assist with inventory valuation, standard costing, and bill of materials (BOM) costing activities.
• Ensure compliance with accounting policies, SOX requirements, and internal control procedures.
• Prepare recurring and ad hoc financial reports and analyses for management.
• Review customer and supplier pricing data and evaluate turnover, margins, and profitability.
• Maintain financial data within ERP and reporting systems, including Hyperion.
• Support month-end closing activities, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analysis.
• Partner with operational teams to resolve financial and business issues and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in financial controlling, accounting, or auditing.
• Fluency in English and Italian.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Experience with ERP systems and financial reporting tools (Hyperion experience is an advantage).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
