Job summary

Thales Alenia Space in Rome, Italy, seeks an experienced Project AIT Operations Manager to oversee assembly, integration and testing activities for space hardware. You will manage day-to-day operations, lead teams of 4–5 up to 20+ people, coordinate with engineering, design authority and quality, and ensure milestones are met within budget.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree or equivalent work experience.
• 3–5 years hands-on exposure to Flight Hardware Testing, including environmental tests and integrated system/subsystem tests.
• Solid understanding of problem-solving techniques and system engineering principles.
• Proven experience in using project management techniques effectively.
• Fluent in Italian and English; French a plus.
• Excellent soft skills: communication, leadership, accountability, ownership, people-oriented.
• Willingness to travel abroad within Europe and to launch sites (French Guiana or USA) for periods up to 2–3 months.

Responsibilities

• Primary link between the AIT Department and the Program Management Office.
• Manage day-to-day program activities in AIT to ensure milestones are met on time and within budget.
• Lead teams from 4–5 up to 20+ people depending on program scale.
• Coordinate with engineering, design authority and quality departments on shop-floor activities.
• Ensure staffing and resource coordination across all operational activities.
