Job summary

Generali Italia SpA is seeking a proactive Data Scientist/AI Engineer to join our Group Data AI & Automation Solutions function. You will drive end-to-end AI projects and help design a central library of analytics/automation services for the business units.

Responsibilities include data preparation, model development and evaluation, presenting results to stakeholders, and researching cutting-edge techniques to translate research into production and grow our shared algorithm library.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in STEM disciplines (Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, CS).
• At least 2 years of data scientist or AI/ML engineering experience.
• Experience designing, developing, and evaluating ML models (clustering, classification, regression, forecasting).
• Proficiency with at least one programming language (Python, Java, C, etc.).
• Strong knowledge in NLP or Computer Vision techniques.
• Familiar with LLMs and libraries (GPT, Claude, LangChain, LLamaIndex) and prompt engineering.
• Proficiency with data science libraries (Pandas, Scikit-learn, NumPy).
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and team-working skills.

Responsibilities

• Supporting project setup and analysis, business case creation, and target end-to-end solution design.
• Developing end-to-end AI projects (data pre-processing, model training, evaluation, maintenance).
• Presenting results and performance to business stakeholders.
• Researching bleeding-edge techniques and contributing to a library of reusable algorithms.
