Alstom Bologna is seeking a technically skilled engineer to support maintenance activities for Railway Signalling Systems, on site or remotely. You will contribute to performance analysis and manage hardware/software retrofit plans while coordinating with internal teams and customer operators.

Ideal candidates are graduates with a technical diploma or 1–2 years in electronic/electromechanical fields, capable of interpreting drawings and using test tools, with basic knowledge of railway systems

Purpose of the Job

The main purpose of the role is to provide technical support to maintenance activities (on site or by remote) on Railway Signalling Systems operated by the Alstom Bologna domestic and international Customers.

The role includes the responsibility to manage warranty obligations on the projects in the scope of Alstom Bologna.

Position in the Organisation

The position will be part of Services Signalling Platform Organisation - Maintenance Team

Organisational Reporting

Hierarchical and Functional report to the Signalling Maintenance Manager

Network & Links

Internal relationships with other Alstom functions: System and Product, Application Engineering, Industrialization, Supply chain departments, Installation.

External relationships with Customer infrastructures operators and with maintenance technicians.

Responsibilities And Accountabilities

• support to maintenance technicians on field;
• provision of performances and log analysis;
• execution and supervision of HW and SW retrofit and upgrade plans;

The position also includes the availability to perform activities outside of the Bologna Alstom site (60%).

Educational Requirements

Technical diploma

T echnical competencies

• Capability to interpret electric drawings and schemes
• Knowledge of electronic design principle and methodology
• Knowledge of the most common operating systems (Unix, Ms-Windows, …)
• Knowledge of the most common net protocols (TCP/IP, …)
• Capability to use test tools (oscilloscope, wave generator, multimeter, etc…)
• Basic knowledge of railway systems and or transportation systems would be a plus

Languages

Italian: excellent level written and spoken

English: good level written and spoken

Experience

New graduate or one/two years of experience on Electronic/Electromechanical company
